Students Voice
"My journey at Gelfa has instilled in me the importance of discipline, perseverance, and having a clear purpose."
Nathaniel Masango
Head Boy
Gelfa Academy is so much more than just a school — it’s a vibrant community built on the pillars of excellence, integrity, and opportunity. As Headboy, I feel truly honored to represent a student body that is not only passionate and driven but also constantly eager to grow in every facet of life.
What really sets Gelfa apart is its unwavering commitment to nurturing not just academic achievers, but also strong, principled leaders. Every student is given the chance to uncover their strengths and the support to transform those strengths into meaningful impact. From classroom learning to leadership roles, community service, and extracurricular activities, Gelfa provides a wealth of opportunities for growth and leadership.
My journey here has instilled in me the importance of discipline, perseverance, and having a clear purpose. I’ve had the incredible opportunity to lead school assemblies, represent my peers in decision-making discussions, and collaborate closely with staff to ensure that every student’s voice is valued. Whether it’s mentoring younger students, organizing school events, or simply being there for a friend, I’ve come to understand that true leadership is all about service, not just status.
Gelfa’s culture inspires every student to aim higher, think critically, and act with integrity. As Headboy, I’m dedicated to upholding these values and making sure that all students feel recognized, supported, and motivated to reach their fullest potential.
At Gelfa Academy, we don’t just settle for mediocrity. We lead with courage, serve with compassion, and grow with a clear vision. Together, we’re not just shaping successful students; we’re cultivating future leaders who will make a lasting impact on the world.
I’m proud to be a Gelfa student — and even prouder to be part of a school that truly believes in its learners and encourages us to become the best versions of ourselves.
Tinotenda Chimbaira
Head Girl
My name is Tinotenda Chimbaira, I am currently doing Form 4 and I have the great honor and privilege of serving as your Head Girl this academic year. Standing here today, I’m filled with a deep sense of pride, responsibility, and gratitude — not just because of the badge I wear, but because of what it represents: trust, teamwork, and the chance to make a meaningful difference.
Being Head Girl isn’t just about leading assemblies or wearing a title. To me, it’s about being a voice for the student body — listening to your ideas, understanding your challenges, and working together to make our school environment one where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
I believe leadership is not about being the loudest in the room — it’s about knowing when to speak up, and when to listen. It’s about being a role model not just in words, but in actions — whether that means supporting someone who’s struggling, stepping up when something needs to be done, or simply being kind when no one’s watching.
As students, we all have a role to play in shaping the culture of our school. Let’s strive to support one another, celebrate each other’s differences, and keep raising our standards — not just academically, but as people.
To the younger students: don’t be afraid to dream big, work hard, and be yourself. You have a voice — use it.
Let’s lead with purpose, act with kindness, and leave behind a legacy we can be proud of.
Thank you.

"Gelfa has been more than a school; it has been a training ground for life."
Tawana Gwisai
Vice-head Boy
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Gelfa School, a place that has not only shaped my academic journey but also played a fundamental role in molding the person I am becoming.
When I joined Gelfa in 2023, during my IGCSE examination year, I stepped into a world that demanded discipline, focus, and resilience. It was a challenging transition but one that ultimately revealed my strength. I am proud to have passed my IGCSEs and to now be pursuing my A-Levels with greater purpose and clarity.
Gelfa has been more than a school; it has been a training ground for life. I have been taught to be independent, self-resilient, and accountable. Even in the face of the school’s intense and competitive atmosphere, I have learned not only to survive but to thrive. These lessons have prepared me for both academic excellence and real-world challenges.
I am especially honoured to have been recognized and entrusted with the responsibility of Deputy Head-boy. It is a role I carry with pride and humility, aware of the example I must set and the legacy I wish to leave behind.
To my teachers, mentors, and peers thank you for your support, your belief in my potential, and for helping me push beyond what I thought was possible.
As I continue forward, I remain committed to fulfilling the demands of my surname, driven by a passion to succeed and a desire to uplift those around me.
Thank you, Gelfa, for everything.
Nozipho Moreforo
Vice-head Girl
I am Nozipho Moreforo, and I’m honored to be the Vice Head Girl at Gelfa Academy. While I may have a title, I truly believe that we’re all in this together. We share the same hallways, experiences, and we grow as one united student body.
Let me share a bit about this amazing place we call our second home. Gelfa Academy isn’t just a boarding school; it’s like a family. From the moment we wake up until we settle down for the night, we live, learn, laugh, and grow side by side. Every day here brings something fresh: a lesson, a challenge, or a cherished memory.
Sure, we sometimes grumble about those early mornings or the mountain of homework, but deep down, we know how lucky we are. Not every school has teachers who truly care, friends who feel like family, and an atmosphere that encourages us to reach our full potential.
For me, Gelfa is so much more than just classrooms and exams. It’s a place where I’ve honed my critical thinking, problem-solving, and social skills. I’ve learned how to connect with others, support my peers, and truly find my voice.
So, let’s cherish these moments. Let’s embrace the unforgettable memories, the lessons that shape us, and the friendships we’ve forged. Because this isn’t just a school—it’s our home.
Thank you!
